You know how they say hindsight is 20/20, well after I posted the home jewelry show invitation I realized that some of my readers may not even have a clue what I am talking about! So lets go back a step and answer a few simple questions…

What is a Jewelry Home Show?
Simply stated a home jewelry show is a great way to display, share and hopefully sell your creations. The show is usually hosted in someone’s home. It is meant to be a laid back atmosphere with no pressure on the customers to purchase anything.
Why should you host a show?
Here are 5 great reasons:
- Test the waters. It is a great way to see people react to your product, unlike internet sales.
- Undivided attention. There is no competition from other vendors, as is the case with craft shows.
- Build customer loyalty. The interactions are intimate making the experience more rewarding for both you and the customer.
- Discover your best sellers. You may find that what sells online is not what sells in stores. Either way you will find out what sells and what price points people trend to.
- It’s virtually free. There are some small cost but really the price is minimal, so its free advertising if nothing else.
How much time will it take?
The jewelry show itself should last 2 to 3 hours. Think of it more as an open house rather than a sales pitch. People should be able to stroll freely in and out of the show.
The set-up time is up to you, but remember it will be in your home so there shouldn’t be time constraints on display assembly and tear down.
Lastly the prep work may take 4 to 5 hours. This is a wag really but it depends on how much effort you want to put into it all. This includes real invitation versus e-vites, home prepped food versus premade food, etc. Really you will get the ultimate decision in how long it takes for you to prep for the show.
What are the price ranges of items I should sell?
The simple answer is a wide range. The broader the range of price the more likely you will get sales.
How far in advance should I plan the show?
Plan it out as far out in advance as you want. The potential customers should be informed approximately 2 weeks an advance.
Can I co-host a show?
Sure, why not?! Make sure that the other artist(s) have complimentary styles of jewelry. The goal is not to make competition but to increase brand awareness.
Can the show be some place else besides my home?
Of course! Go wherever you feel comfortable. Usually a party that is held at a retail venue are referred to as trunk show. The technicalities are almost the same. The only other complication is getting permission from the retailer.

Thanks for the information
Not sure I could do something like that for my crafts, but if is worth a thought.
You could consider doing it with another artist that way if you didn’t feel like you had enough inventory etc you could still get your wares out there without the same commitment
unniquecozytreasures- Some do have success with home shows.
I have participated in many home shows with a variety of vendors and they are always well worth the effort!
