General Questions:
So, what’s up with the name “Clay Space”?
I wish there were a funny/interesting story here and maybe I should invent one. I wanted to create my own website that combined my Metal Clay Jewelry and Ceramics. Both of them require clay of some sort and since I am Space Scientist by degree, I combined the two for Clay Space. . .that was as much thought as I gave it.
Do you have a press page?
Not yet, but it is coming soon!
Is there some place with testimonials of your products?
I share testimonials of my products on the footer of this website.
About your Blog:
What is up with all your websites?
Here’s a cheat sheet:
- CNJCeramics on Etsy: My online store for all of my ceramics products
- Sterling Sun on Etsy: My online store for my metal clay and other jewelry creations.
- Clay Space: My blog and hopefully eventually a stand alone online shop.
In Social Media:
- Fan my page on Facebook: where I show all the apron submissions (this group is viewable to everyone, but only I can upload to it)
- Follow 505ClaySpace on Twitter
- Subscribe to my RSS feed
- See my latest creations on Flickr
- Subscribe to my newsletter for the latest news and deals
Do you have a mailing list?
Why, yes I do. You can subscribe to my e-mail newsletter on the front page side bar or by simply clicking this link.
I’d like to advertise on your blog. What are your rates?
I offer a limited amount of advertising on my blog or websites. I consider my blog an online art sketchbook and brain dump for me, therefore I take careful consideration for the ads that I place on the front page. There are 6 ad spots and 2 featured spots. You can find out more about my pricing here.
I realize you don’t do ads but what’s your deal with company links and are you associated with any companies as an associate?
I offer reviews or link to items for cash and I disclose appropriately when doing so. I also link to a shops because I really do just like them or what they are selling. I am a believer of handmade products and therefore occasionally feature sellers on my blog. Feel free to apply but I can’t guarantee everyone a spot.
Sometimes I do review products I have been sent for free and I clearly say in the post I was given something. I enjoy reviewing books and sometimes receive review copies for free and sometimes I buy them, again I state in the blog post if they were purchased by me. There are new FTC rules regarding product reviews on blog and I am in compliance with these, please check it out.
I have a blog and I tagged you for a meme, blog-thingy, or some other type of question thing, will you play along?
Thanks for the invite, but honestly I am horrible at these. I wish I had more time. I always mean to do them, but I usually forget, feel horrible trying to tag other bloggers, and then I just stress about it… So in the end it doesn’t end up being very much fun.
What kind of camera do you use?
I have a Canon Rebel XT and I love it! I originally purchased it for astrophotography. My reasoning behind purchasing the Rebel XT was its lower noise sensor than the other digital cameras made by Canon.
Who designed your website and who hosts it?
I do all the graphic design/layout/organization of this site. I have coded it all using the wordpress.org platform. If you have a specific question I may be able to help, but remember I am by no means a professional. I have discussed some of my development process in my blog and eventually, when time permits an e-book.
What program do you use for your banner/ graphics?
I use Adobe Illustrator or Adobe Photoshop for pretty much for everything. If you aren’t interested in spending that kind of cash for these programs you should consider GIMP or picnik as alternatives.
I have a new blog, can I link to yours? Do you want to swap links?
Welcome aboard! And yes you can link away, thank you. I don’t really have a blogroll anymore, just a rotating list of blogs that changes pretty often. There are too many amazing blogs out there-a blog roll totally overwhelms me, so I don’t really swap links like that, sorry.
Artwork Questions:
There is a piece of yours I really would like, but it is already sold, can you make another one similar?
Possibly, it depends on several factors, but the best way to find out is to contact me. Don’t forget to include the link of the product you like.
Are you taking commissioned work right now?
I am, again should contact me for more information.
Do you sell your work wholesale?
Sometimes, but not often. Again, contact me to discuss this opportunity.
Where can I find your work?
Besides Etsy, my work can be found at:
- Red Horse Livery, in Danville, IN
- Noya Musueum of Art in NJ
- I have a B&M Shop, coming soon in Albuquerque
